Have you driven on SR60 towards Bartow and past by what looks to be the remains of a brick building and ever wondered what it was?
Luckily, Nomeus found some blueprints inside which gave some indication as to what it was when he explored the building back in 2010, before it was demolished. According to the blueprints, the building was built in 1938 and was labeled as the “Old Bartow Boiler”. In the past, it was used to supply heat and power to the nearby citrus packing house.
I couldn’t find much history but if anyone knows anything more about it, feel free to leave a comment below or drop me an email.
