I was born and raised in South Florida and have lived here since. I began urban exploring in 2009 after watching a documentary about it and becoming interested in the history people had left behind. My love for photography grew from it as a way to share these places with others.
Abandoned Florida started as personal means to keep track of places that have been demolished, as that was always a concerns since construction is rampant here in Florida. Working together with other explorers and photographers in the state, the website has grown into what it is today.
I do not condone vandalism and do my part in helping to prevent it by not sharing addresses here unless it is otherwise stated, so please do not ask. For a more detailed explanation, please read the disclaimer.
